You is not quite right. See the picture.
Signal after “Output Cache” come in to Timeline (TL). In TL may used the nods. The nods of TL are not supporte cache.
Yes, you are right about the timeline nodes and caching. The same goes for groups pre & post. I think one thing is still not right – seems that output cache is after the timeline nodes, as any change in the timeline breaks the cache.
I just put on the diagram the sections where caching works and how the signal flows between them.
